Canadian Rockies Via Rail

This Premier World Discovery tour includes roundtrip air from Nashville, 2 days VIA Rail on The Canadian (Sleeper Plus Class – Berths), 12 meals, professional tour director, deluxe motor coach, baggage handling, hotel transfers, hometown transfers, and daily sightseeing. Arrive in Vancouver, one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities in North America.

Day 2, ferry through the scenic Gulf Islands to Vancouver Island. Visit Victoria, British Columbia’s beautiful capital. Later return to Vancouver by ferry. Day 3, Enjoy leisure time and later enjoy a Vancouver City Tour including Stanley Park, Chinatown and Gastown. Dinner is included before heading to the train station where you’ll board The Canadian for a classic and memorable 2-day and overnight rail excursion into the awe-inspiring Canadian Rockies. The Canadian winds along the North Thompson River passing towering peaks and glacial valleys in a vast wilderness once only accessible by rail. Enjoy the incredible scenery like Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.

Day 5, visit Jasper Nat’l Park and a photographer’s paradise! An optional cruise to Spirit Island will be available. Day 6, travel south along the Icefields Parkway, linking Jasper and Lake Louise, one of North America’s most spectacular drives. Later ride in a specially designed Ice Explorer on the 1000 foot thick Athabasca Glacier part of the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest ice masses outside of the Arctic Circle. Later scale Bow Pass and stop to see turquoise blue Peyto Lake. Next, travel into Banff National Park and enjoy a brief Banff Area Tour including Mt. Rundle, Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain, and the Hoodoos. Then arrive at your hotel in the quaint town of Banff for a 2-night stay.

Day 7, View two of the crown jewels of the Canadian Rockies. Stop to view spectacular Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks before visiting the Chateau Lake Louise, located within a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then travel through Kicking Horse Pass into Yoho Nat’l Park to see the Natural Bridge, the remarkable Spiral Tunnels and cross the Continental Divide before returning to Banff. Day 8, Transfer to Calgary and fly home filled with wonderful memories of your Canadian Rockies Via Rail Tour.

Virginia Beach Coastal Experience

This deluxe motor coach excursion to Virginia Beach, Virginia in- cludes on-the-road overnight lodging (Oct. 17 and 21) in Roanoke at the Hampton Inn Airport, and 3 nights at the Virginia Beach Holiday Inn Oceanside Hotel.

After early afternoon arrival and hotel check-in on the 18th, depart with our guide for a Welcome to Virginia Beach Riding Tour to enjoy beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. Visit the historic Cape Henry Lighthouse and the spot where the English colonists first landed in 1607. Conclude the evening with a welcome dinner at Waterman’s Surfside Grille.

On the 19th, head out on the water for a Dolphin Watching Boat Trip. Once back on land, stop in for a tour of Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. where you’ll learn about the history of the holistic health and wellness or- ganization and its founder, who was born and buried in Hopkinsville (our own claim to fame!!). Then enjoy a delicious lunch at The Lead- ing Lizard located in the historic Cayce Hospital Building. Spend the afternoon perusing national and regionally-renowned artist exhibits at The Virginia Contemporary Museum of Art. Next, travel to the pedestrian-friendly Town Center for high-end shopping and dinner on your own. Finish the evening with a sumptuous coffee, tea and chocolate pairing at The Royal Chocolate.

On the 20th, following breakfast, depart for the picturesque Eastern Shore. Enjoy a scenic drive across one of the seven engineering wonders of the modern world, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Arrive in the charming town of Cape Charles and stroll historic Mason Avenue. Next, relax over a seafood lunch at the upscale Oyster Farm Restaurant overlooking King’s Creek Marina. (Don’t worry, other lunch options besides seafood will be available!) After lunch, arrive at Cherrystone Aqua Farms for a hands-on tour viewing oysters and clams in their natural water habitat. Continue up the coast to visit Chatham Vineyards where we’ll be treated to a winery tour, a flight of wine, and a gourmet cheese platter. Conclude our journey with a farewell dinner at a local favorite, Rockafeller’s.

On the 21st, following checkout, we’ll spend the morning with a Beatles-themed Brunch at Abbey Road Pub and Restaurant. Arrival in Roanoke will be in time to do some touring/shopping before check-in at the Hampton Inn Airport. We’ll depart for home around 8 a.m. on Sunday, the 22nd.

Package price includes deluxe motor coach transportation, 5 nights lodging, luggage handling, 3 full hot breakfasts, 1 brunch, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, all admissions, taxes & gratuities, and services of a local guide throughout the stay.
