July 21, 2022 - Adsmore House & Gardens, Day Trip to Princeton, KY

 Adsmore

Join us on Thursday, July 21, 2022, for this motorcoach day trip to Princeton, KY, as we step back in time and visit Adsmore, a living house museum. Leave the present and enter into an era of top hats and fans, elegant china and crystal, and button shoes. Adsmore, meticulously restored, reflects the lifestyle of the prominent Smith-Garrett family at the close of the “Golden Age”. Afterwards, we’ll have lunch at Adams’ Breezy Hill Farm. Below is the day’s itinerary:


9:00 a.m. – Depart Park Plaza Shopping Center (across from McDonald’s on Ft. Campbell Blvd.) – South End on hill behind Car Wash
10:00 a.m. – Tour Adsmore House & Gardens
12:30 p.m. – Lunch at “Adams’ Breezy Hill Farm Restaurant” (Following lunch, we will depart for Hopkinsville.)

Our group will fly from Nashville to Scottsdale, AZ where our tour begins. The next day, we’ll travel to Sedona and soak in the imaginative atmosphere and colorful vistas while browsing the arts and crafts shops of the marketplace. We will admire Oak Creek Canyon where the rock formations seem to change hue with every turn in the road! Later, we will travel through the spectacular Kaibab Nat’l Forest before reaching the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. On Day 3, we will take time to explore the Grand Canyon. “Grand” is not a strong enough word for today! Theodore Roosevelt once said, “This is one of the great sights which every American, if he can travel at all, must see.” We will take in breathtaking views as we travel along East Rim Drive. Later, a short ride brings us to Cameron Trading Post. For nearly a century, the post has acted as a haven for travelers, traders and explorers. Continue north through mesa-studded desert before arriving at our home for the next two evenings—a lovely hotel overlooking the stunning blue waters of Lake Powell. Later, we will enjoy dinner at Lake Powell and some time at leisure. On Day 4, we will begin our day with an invigorating breakfast cruise along lovely Lake Powell. Then, it’s your choice! Travel through the territory of the Navajo nation and arrive n Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, a sacred Navajo land featuring iconic sandstone spires; enjoy a fascinating tour, narrated by a Navajo tribe member, and a stop at a Hogan, a traditional Navajo hut -OR- you may take a canyon adventure cruise through the wondrous geologic formations of the Navajo and Antelope Canyons. On Day 5, Saturday, we will travel to spectacular Bryce Canyon National Park, famous for its Hoodoos. These rock formations, created over thousands of years by wind and water, carry natural orange and red hues, the product of iron oxidizing within the rock. Enjoy a walk along the Sunset Point to Sunrise Point Rim Trail. Day 6, we will take a full day to explore Utah’s first national park, Zion…few places on earth match the beauty of Zion National Park’s red and white sandstone cliffs! Climb aboard Zion’s open-air tram and wind your way alongside the Virgin River and through the 2,400 foot deep, one-half-mile wide Zion Canyon. This afternoon, it’s Your Choice! Visit the Zion Human History Museum to learn more about the park – OR- continue to enjoy time in the great outdoors exploring the park independently. On Day 7, we will trade nature’s beauty for the lights of the Vegas Strip. This four-mile stretch of road features neon lit resorts and round-the-clock action. On Day 8, our tour ends and we will depart for home with amazing memories of our journey. There are 10 meals (6 breakfasts and 4 dinners) included in the price.

Non-Planters Bank customers who wish to travel will be charged an annual fee of $25. This fee covers the communication cost for travel announcements, event invitations and other activities.
